Samuel Crowder, Tony Purpuri, and Joe Edmonds recently attended the launch of the Trust for Records of Enslavement and Emancipation (TREE) at Dyrham Park.
The event featured the first public display of TREE’s archive of slavery-era documents, accompanied by curated explainers, live music from Trio Paradis, and contributions from a range of partners and supporters. The event offered a moving and memorable experience, shedding light on historical records in a way that truly resonated with everyone there.

Thank you to Matt Johnston for the kind invitation and for your inspiring work.

Joe Edmonds says “I was incredibly honoured to attend the TREE launch. This event brought the history of slavery to life. The use of newspaper cuttings from the period, detailing the transportation of enslaved people from St Vincent and the Grenadines, struck me especially. Thank you Matt Johnston and the team for the fantastic work you are doing.”
